Cessnock Basketball’s Primary School Challenge is a one-day tournament open to students from Year 3 to Year 6. We encourage all schools in the Cessnock area to enter a mixed junior, and senior girls and boys teams as part of the competition.
Date & Time
Wednesday the 17th of August 2022. Please arrive at 8:45 am. Games commence at 9 am and conclude at 3:30 pm.

Divisions
- Senior Girls
- Senior Boys
- Junior Mixed
The Senior Girls and Senior Boys divisions are targeted at girls and boys in Year 5 and Year 6, as well as younger children currently playing in our Super 12s Competition (or equivalent).
The Junior Mixed division is for younger children in Year 3 and Year 4. Junior Mixed will use lowered hoops and size 5 basketballs to allow younger kids to participate at their current skill level.
Team Manager & Scoring Duty
- A teacher or approved parent must manage/coach each team.
- Each team must provide a person to help with score bench duty.
- Referees will be provided for each game.
Equipment & Uniforms
- Basketballs will be supplied.
- Teams must be in matching uniforms, with numbers clearly marked. School sports uniform is acceptable with numbered bib or player number drawn on arm in black marker.
