How does it work?
Our Mixed Social Comp is designed to emphasize fun and fairness, even more so than other Cessnock Basketball competitions. Players are encouraged to participate in the true spirit of the game, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Each team must have a minimum of 3 female players, and there can be no more than 2 male players on the court at any one time.
When are games played?
The competition begins in Term 2 of 2025 and continues through to the end of Term 3, with a break during the winter school holidays. The competition spans 20 rounds, including finals. Games are held every Wednesday, starting from 6:50 p.m. onwards.
How many players does a team need?
Each team should have a minimum of seven registered players. Teams that do not have seven registered players at the start of the competition may be removed or merged with other teams. If you need help finding additional players, our Competition Manager is here to assist. Just reach out at competitions@cessnockbasketball.com.au, and we’ll help you complete your roster.

Can you help me find a team?
Of course! If you’re looking for a team, just fill out this form, and we’ll work to connect you with a team that’s the right fit for you.
What are the game fees?
The game fees for the competition are $290 per player ($14.50 per round) for 20 rounds of basketball (including finals). You have the option to pay the full amount upfront or split it into two instalments. Additionally, all players must have an active annual Basketball NSW Membership.
Do players need to wear uniforms?
Yes, all teams should wear uniforms. You can either arrange your own or choose the Cessnock Basketball reversible playing singlets. Our singlets are an easy and attractive option, designed for both comfort and performance, making it simple to get your team game-ready.
What happens if we need to forfeit?
Communication is key. If your team needs to forfeit, please notify the Competition Manager as soon as possible. A forfeit fine, as outlined in the competition by-laws, may apply, and a points penalty may also be enforced.
I have a question that isn’t answered here. Can you help?
Absolutely! If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Competition Manager at competitions@cessnockbasketball.com.au. We’re here to help!
