How do I nominate a team?
To nominate a team, you’ll need an adult team manager (18 years or older). Once you have your team manager in place, they can easily nominate your team by clicking the nomination button above.
When are games played?
The Men’s Summer Comp begins in Term 4 of 2024 and continues through to the end of Term 1, 2025, with a break during the Christmas school holidays. The competition spans 20 rounds, including finals. Games are held every Tuesday, starting from 6:30 p.m. onwards.
How many players does a team need?
Senior teams must have at least five registered players to participate, though we strongly recommend having seven or more for flexibility. Teams that don’t meet the five-player minimum at the start of the competition will be removed. If you need assistance in finding additional players, our Competition Manager is here to help. Simply reach out at competitions@cessnockbasketball.com.au, and we’ll assist you in completing your roster.
Can you help me find a team?
Of course! If you’re looking for a team, just fill out this form, and we’ll work to connect you with a team that’s the right fit for you.
What are the game fees?
Teams pay game fees on a per-team basis. The total game fee for the 20-round competition (including finals) is $1,800, payable in two installments. For a team with the recommended seven players, this averages out to $13 per player per round. Invoices will be sent to the team manager at the start of Term 4, 2024, and again at the start of Term 1, 2025.
Please note that all players must also have an active annual BNSW Membership.
Will there be byes?
We understand that byes can be inconvenient, and we will do everything possible to avoid including them in the draw. However, they may be unavoidable in certain situations. If the draw does include byes, team game fees will be reduced accordingly to reflect the missed games.
What happens if we need to forfeit?
Communication is key. If your team needs to forfeit, please notify the Competition Manager as soon as possible. A forfeit fine, as outlined in the competition by-laws, will apply, and a points penalty may also be enforced. This policy will be strictly upheld during the Summer Comp.
For the opposing team, a refund for that week’s game fees will be issued, with team game fee invoices adjusted accordingly.
Do players need to wear uniforms?
Yes, all teams should wear uniforms. You can either arrange your own or choose the Cessnock Basketball reversible playing singlets. Our singlets are an easy and attractive option, designed for both comfort and performance, making it simple to get your team game-ready.
I have a question that isn’t answered here. Can you help?
